As a specialist in export to Africa, Overseas Africa supplies its clients a wide range of products. Over the last 25 years the company has built a solid and reliable relationship with importers and distributors in 30 African countries.
The head office is situated in Antwerp, a top logistic centre in Europe. From here Overseas Africa supplies its customers with international products. In our modern warehouse of 17.000m² Overseas stocks over 3000 SKU’s in order to offer the best supply solution for its clients.
The group Overseas Distribution Company employs more than 45 motivated people.
History
Over 35 years of experience in distribution to Africa.
In 1946, Overseas set its first steps as a ship chandler in the port of Antwerp. 41 years later a part of the company changed course and started to focus on trading to Africa. Over the years Overseas Africa has established itself as an international distributor active in 30 African countries.
Overseas’ milestones
- 1946 The Demaerel family supplies the vessels in the port of Antwerp.
- 1981 Redirection of the business in the supply of bonded stores to ship chandlers.
- 1985 A new generation within the family rises.
- 1987 Creation of the Africa Domestic Department.
- 1992 Start of the Romanian production and distribution companies.
- 2006 Creation of the Overseas Travel Retail Department.
- 2009 Move into the new premises in Antwerp.
- 2010 The first distribution of duty free travel retail in Africa.
- 2011 Growth results in a new additional office and a bigger warehouse.
- 2013 With a new organisational structure ODC stands strong.
- 2014 Opening of the China office.
- 2015 Expansion of the warehouse to 14.000m².
- 2018 Expansion of the warehouse to 17.000m².
- 2021 Move into new office Overseas Distribution Africa.
- 2023 Expansion and new organisational structure Overseas Distribution Africa.
- 2024 Start of using a new logistic platform.
